This video is incredibly well done and honest. It’s a must see for women about to give birth, or all who want a better understanding of birth. If you only have time for one of the videos here, I recommend this be the one.

Birth Matters Virginia is a state-wide organization with the goal to improve the culture of birth in Virginia. They recently held a video contest, and below are some of my favorites. Among the judges were Ricki Lake and Abby Epstein of the documentary “The Business of Being Born,” another Holistic Doula NYC video favorite.

Why a video contest? In their own words, “As a step toward our goal of educating women about their choices and options during the childbearing years, Birth Matters Virginia solicited short videos about evidence-based maternity and delivery care. With our nation ranking 41st in maternal mortality and our cesarean rate surpassing 30%, it is more important than ever for women to be educated about their options.” I couldn’t agree more.
